Celebrating Two Years of the Francis Crick Institute
13 November 2018

On Thursday, November 8th, representatives of the Stavros Niarchos Foundation (SNF) joined researchers and staff at London’s Francis Crick Institute in celebrating the Institute’s two-year anniversary.

The Francis Crick Institute brings together 1,500 researchers and staff in a state-of-the-art biomedical research facility that is the largest of its kind in Europe. The Institute seeks to better prevent, diagnose, and treat serious diseases by learning about the fundamental biological mechanisms that underlie health and illness.

The Francis Crick Institute was created in 2015 by founding partners including Cancer Research UK, which SNF proudly supports. The Foundation provided major support for construction and equipment for the Institute’s facilities, which were opened in October 2016 by Her Majesty The Queen and The Duke of Edinburgh, accompanied by the Duke of York.
