Interview with Andreas Dracopoulos in the Sunday Edition of Kathimerini
Stavros Niarchos Foundation (SNF) Co-President Andreas Dracopoulos gave an interview to Alexis Papachelas, Editor-in-Chief of Kathimerini, for the Sunday edition of the newspaper, which was published on May 10. In the interview, Andreas Dracopoulos discusses the Foundation’s philanthropic activity in 137 countries, in light of its 30th anniversary, with a particular focus on Greece. He presents the core values that underpin the Foundation’s philosophy, emphasizing the importance of public-private partnerships and noting that SNF operates in a manner complementary to the state, through relationships based on transparency and open cooperation, regardless of changes of administration or political ideologies.
At the same time, he talks about the three new hospitals being built as part of the Foundation’s Global Health Initiative (GHI), noting that, upon completion, they will be handed over to the Greek state, as was the case with the Stavros Niarchos Foundation Cultural Center (SNFCC). He also discusses SNF’s aim, in accordance with the wishes of founder Stavros S. Niarchos, to serve the country and help strengthen Greek society, while expressing his concern about the current complex situation both in Greece and internationally.
