“Block party for all of New York” dances back to Lincoln Center this summer

Apr 20, 2026
Summer for the City is waltzing back to Lincoln Center to offer New Yorkers and visitors of all stripes a killer kickline of events, all free or choose-what-you-pay, with a special emphasis this year on dance.

A swing dance party. A K-pop dance night. Jamaica Day. Schumann symphonies through the lens of mental health. Hundreds of events crowd the calendar, just released by Lincoln Center, between June 10 and August 8.

The Stavros Niarchos Foundation (SNF) has supported community programming at Summer for the City from the beginning, during which time it’s reached more than 1.6 million visitors.

“Summer for the City is the block party for all of New York we didn’t know we’d been missing until it arrived,” said SNF Co-President Andreas Dracopoulos. “It’s become an established part of our summer routines by offering a program for all who visit that captures the fun, carefree spirit of the season.”

Through a yearslong partnership and landmark grants, SNF has been proud to support Lincoln Center’s work to expand its welcome to its New York neighbors, including those to the west, and visitors from around the world while reimagining what public space can do. This endeavor involves both physical transformations of the space to open up access and programming that creates a sense of belonging for all.
