02 MAY 2017 / The renovated Stavros Niarchos Foundation Parkway welcomes its first visitors through the Maryland Film Festival

The 19th Maryland Film Festival (MdFF) begins on May 3rd and marks the MdFF’s first year in its renewed home, the Stavros Niarchos Foundation Parkway.

Through the festival the historic building opens its doors to the public following a major renovation that was completed recently, and was made possible with the important contribution of the Stavros Niarchos Foundation in collaboration with the Johns Hopkins University, the Maryland Institute College of Art and the Maryland Film Festival.

Located in Baltimore’s Station North Arts and Entertainment District, the rescued Stavros Niarchos Foundation Parkway, amongst other programs, will serve as home for the annual Maryland Film Festival (MdFF), owner and operator of the theater.

This year’s festival program includes the area premieres of highly anticipated features by Baltimoreans, such as Rat Film, by Theo Anthony, and Sylvio, by Albert Birney and Kentucker Audley.
