Andreas Dracopoulos honored by Lincoln Center

Jun 03, 2026
Stavros Niarchos Foundation (SNF) Co-President Andreas Dracopoulos was honored at Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts’ recent Summer Gala in New York, alongside ballet dancer Misty Copeland, who received Lincoln Center’s inaugural Luminary Award.

The event was held to launch Lincoln Center’s free or choose-what-you-pay Summer for the City, where SNF has supported community programming for the more than 1.6 million visitors it’s welcomed so far.

Lincoln Center also recently broke ground on the SNF LC West Initiative, which will remove the barrier wall along the western edge of its campus, add new performance venues, and, based on feedback from thousands of local residents, redesign public spaces in the newly minted SNF Gardens to host a broad range of new programming.

In his remarks at the event, Andreas described the importance of breaking down these physical barriers, but he also emphasized the need for accompanying programming to break down barriers in access that are metaphorical—but no less real.

“Lincoln Center as it is now has a clear front and back. Approaching from the front is magical; approaching from the back is kind of foreboding. Now, campus is being reinvented as a true 360-degree experience, inviting from every direction, and the result is a new platform for arts and culture.

“The physical transformation is important, but the programming Lincoln Center will offer to go with it is just as critical in helping people truly feel that the arts at Lincoln Center are meant for them.”
