SNF partners collaborate to share works by artists who have experienced incarceration
Faces of Resilience shown at the Barnes Foundation in Philadelphia through in July and August, featured works by participants in a paid apprenticeship at Mural Arts Philadelphia who have been incarcerated or are on probation, as well as people incarcerated at a maximum-security prison in southeast Pennsylvania.
PEN America, where SNF has supported the PEN Prison Writing Program, recently reviewed the exhibition.
SNF supports community engagement programs at the Barnes Foundation and the Porch Light program at Mural Arts Philadelphia, which uses public art as a framework for strengthening public health and wellbeing. SNF has also supported a range of programs serving people who are or have been incarcerated through the arts, from performing arts to writing to visual arts.
