The grant supports a fellowship program under the auspices of the ERA-EDTA and the Hellenic Nephrology Society that will secure 4 fellowships for young Greek Nephrologists over a period of 4 years. The fellowships will encourage, expand and enhance the work of young Greek Nephrologists, and also aid them in developing strong professional relationships within the field. Due to the international placement requirement of the fellowship, the recipients will gain international medical experience, whilst also facilitating collaboration, both in clinical and basic science, between European Renal Centres and Research Institutions. The Hellenic Society of Nephrology (HNS) was founded in 1970. It is a non-political and non-profit medical-scientific organization, located in Athens, with the principle aim of promoting research and practice in all fields of Nephrology. The ERA-EDTA is the association of European kidney specialists with over 7000 members. It is registered in the UK but its main activity covers Europe and the Mediterranean area. Its key objective is the advancement of medical science and clinical work in Nephrology.
