A “Democratic” Model of Design Thinking in Journalism
17 December 2019

Corey Ford, Director of the Sulzberger Executive Leadership Program at Columbia Journalism School, describes the creative process of producing ideas and stories that are formulated for needs of the target audience and tested before they are implemented. As Ford, a recent speaker at iMEdD’s Newsroom Essentials program, explains, the process of human-centered design thinking can lead to the production of innovative journalistic ventures while contributing to the economic viability of journalism.

Newsroom Essentials, the first thematic cycle in this year’s iMEdD Ideas Zone, was designed and was implemented in collaboration with Columbia University’s Journalism School.
