Arthritis Foundation Holds Commitment to a Cure Event
20 September 2019

On Thursday, September 19, the Arthritis Foundation held its annual Commitment to a Cure gala in New York.

The Stavros Niarchos Foundation (SNF) provided support for the event in recognition of the Arthritis Foundation’s 2019 Founder’s Award honorees, Drs. Thomas and Peter Sculco. Both are longtime friends of SNF, representatives of which attended the event.

Dr. Thomas Sculco is Surgeon-in-Chief emeritus at Hospital for Special Surgery (HSS), a world leader in orthopedics and rheumatology. Both he and HSS orthopedic surgeon Dr. Peter Sculco took part in SNF’s 2019 Conference in Athens. SNF recently provided landmark support for the HSS Stavros Niarchos Foundation Complex Joint Reconstruction Center.

SNF provided past repeated support to the New York Chapter of the Arthritis Foundation for a program that enabled Greek physicians to take part in arthritis research at HSS.

The event, which featured entertainment by Sly and the Family Stone saxophonist and the daughter of Sly Stone, was hosted by CBS2 Chief Weathercaster Lonnie Quinn.
