The Stavros Niarchos Foundation continues to respond to the crisis in Greece

The Stavros Niarchos Foundation continues its efforts to offer assistance to those suffering from the crippling effects of the socioeconomic crisis in Greece by approving 14 new grants.
The grants approved by the Foundation’s Board of Directors during its most recent meeting total €13,886,000 ($17,906,552). They are directed to nonprofit organizations throughout the country, and aim to support a wide variety of programs that offer critical and much needed assistance to individuals and communities. 
Including these new grants, the Foundation has committed a total of €71,935,000 ($92,842,000) from the beginning of 2012 as part of the ongoing three year, additional €100.000.000 ($130.000.000) initiative, in order to support the programs and activities of numerous not for profit organizations throughout Greece, while it continues to evaluate several other organizations for potential future funding.
