Robin Hood Invests in Nonprofit Leaders of Color with Anchor Grant from SNF
They’re the second cohort of leaders selected for support from Robin Hood’s Power Fund, which aims fight poverty by investing in nonprofit leaders of color whose work is informed by both professional expertise and personal experience.
The Stavros Niarchos Foundation (SNF) made a major grant to support the Power Fund, building on significant ongoing collaboration with Robin Hood, including two major grants to the Robin Hood Relief Fund made as part of the Foundation’s global COVID-19 relief initiative.
“The Power Fund is forging durable change that will help shift the paradigm within philanthropy to recognize and invest in leaders of color who have long gone underfunded,” said SNF Co-President Andreas Dracopoulos on the launch of the fund. “The experienced leaders in this first cohort provide the committed vision needed to address pervasive socioeconomic inequities. We are proud to act as an anchor funder to support each of these five organizations through Robin Hood’s Power Fund.”
The newly selected participants join leaders from the first cohort who head New York organizations advocating for affordable housing and tenants’ rights, championing the health of mothers and children in Brooklyn, and opening doors to careers in technology for students.
