The MacMillan Center for International and Area Studies - Program support
For endowing and permanently establishing the Stavros Niarchos Foundation Center for Hellenic Studies in the MacMillan Center for International and Area Studies at Yale.

The Center supports the activities of the Hellenic Studies Program.
The Hellenic Studies Program features:

•    New courses taught by visiting scholars. The courses offer opportunities to study post-classical Greece in its broader geographical and historical contexts. Two courses are taught each year by lecturers invited from a range of relevant disciplines.

•    A three-year program of language instruction in modern Greek at the elementary and intermediate levels, with concurrent development of multimedia language materials that will ultimately be shared with other institutions.

The Program of Hellenic Studies also organizes lectures, symposia and conferences and supports faculty and student scholarly activities.

The MacMillan Center is Yale University's principal agency for encouraging and coordinating teaching and research on international affairs and non-U.S. societies and cultures.
