For operating support for the Women´s Refugee Commission, which was founded by prominent women in 1989 under the auspices of the International Rescue Committee.
 
The Commission is the sole organization dedicated to improving the lives and defending the rights of refugee and internally displaced women, children and adolescents.
 
The Women´s Refugee Commission seeks to create long-term, systemic change that will produce positive and sustainable results. The Women’s Commission is often the first to identify emerging needs and issues of concern to displaced populations and to conduct comprehensive, empirical research and analysis. Current programming focuses on economic livelihoods, reproductive health, educating youth, ending gender-based violence, services for disabled refugees, and fair treatment for those detained and seeking asylum in the United States.
