To Create and To Do (Poiein kai Prattein)

For expenses related to the Kids’ Guernica exhibition at an international symposium, “Productivity of Civilization,” which took place in Zappeion in October 2007.  Kids’ Guernica is a children’s peace project in which children around the world create peace paintings on large-scale canvases the same size as that of Pablo Picasso´s Guernica, 1937.

The murals displayed contained peace messages from children living in Afghanistan, Lebanon, Palestine, Georgia, N. Ireland (Belfast), Martinique, New Zealand, Australia, Japan, USA (Chicago) and Greece.
The Kids’ Guernica project was initiated by the Art Japan Network in 1995, the year of the 50th anniversary of the end of World War II.  More than 70 paintings have been completed for the project in over 30 countries.
