Tall Ships Youth Trust

Programs support

For general operating support and for special voyage programs in the Mediterranean to encourage young people from Greece and other nations to participate in voyages with the tall ship Stavros S. Niarchos. The voyages promote personal development and cultural understanding with crew members from other countries.

The Tall Ships Youth Trust, founded in 1956, is the world´s oldest and largest sail training organization.  Its goal is to further the personal development of young people ages 16 to 25 through teaching them how to crew tall ships. On April 2000, the Tall Ships Youth Trust celebrated the naming of the 60m brig Stavros S. Niarchos. The brig sails year round to various destinations, allowing young people to master sailing skills and contributing to their personal growth.

Ιn 2009, ten youngsters from Greece sailed around Ireland, with the exclusive support of the Stavros Niarchos Foundation. To see the Stavros S. Niarchos´ 2009 schedule please click here.
