To support WNYC’s campaign to acquire and preserve WQXR, and to provide seed support for WQXR’s new musical programming initiatives, expanding WQXR’s position as the premier portal where listeners discover and experience the best in classical music and opera from around the world.   

Foun New York Public Radio is home to three leading public radio stations - WNYC FM, WNYC AM, and WQXR FM – as well as New Jersey Public Radio and the Jerome L. Greene Performance Space. WNYC is the flagship and most listened-to station of the American public radio network. The station has a long history of providing New York and the nation with unique news, educational, cultural and public affairs programming. WQXR, New York City’s only all-classical music station, provides listeners with programming from the European and American classical canon as well as compositions written by 20th century and contemporary masters. WQXR has embarked on ambitious new programming goals centered on increased live broadcasts, innovative new destination programming, and partnerships with the foremost domestic and international cultural institutions, artists, conductors and composers.
