The Museum is the oldest nautical museum in Greece. Its picture gallery, established in 1928, features the Galaxidi Chronicles, written in 1703 by Priest-Monk Efthimio, rare paintings-portraits of nineteenth-century sailing boats by foreign painters, twentieth-century sailing boat paintings by Greek painters, various parts of sailing boats and sailing tools, and rare photographs of 1821 Greek Revolution fighters.
