Aldabra Foundation

For the “Aldabra…. Treasure of Biodiversity” exhibition to be held in the Rotonde Building in the Jardin des Plantes Zoo in Paris from May 21 - November 7, 2008.

The exhibition will showcase the Aldabra Atoll as an icon of biodiversity that features extraordinary bird, terrestrial and marine life and will create a call for greater understanding and appreciation of the planet’s biodiversity.

The Aldabra Foundation was created in 2005 to fund research, conservation and management of the Aldabra Atoll, a remote atoll lying 420 km northwest of Madagascar.  The atoll is among the greatest intact wildlife sanctuaries in the world and has the world’s largest population of giant tortoises. UNESCO has classified the Aldabra Atoll as a World Heritage site since 1982.
