The Public Theater

This grant supports the theater's Mobile Shakespeare Unit, which presents free Shakespeare productions in prisons, homeless shelters, and community centers throughout New York City, as well as Public Works, which invites community members throughout the city to take classes, attend performances, and join in the creation of ambitious works of participatory theater.
