Muscular Dystrophy Association (MDA) HELLAS

For establishing a Neuromuscular Diseases Unit at the University Hospital of Patra. Founded in 2000, MDA (Muscular Dystrophy Association) Hellas is a nonprofit organization dedicated to improving survival outcomes from muscular dystrophy and to addressing the many problems that neuromuscular diseases cause.  The organization’s main goals are to conduct advocacy work in the health, education, athletic and professional sectors and to help people who suffer from these diseases integrate themselves into society.This grant, as all grants made in the Spring of 2007, is dedicated to the memory of Mary A. Dracopoulos, sister of our late founder, Stavros S. Niarchos.
