Holy Metropolitan Church of Alexandroupolis

For building a day care center for ten babies and twenty-four young children of single mothers or orphans.In addition to its education and entertainment functions, the day care center provides medical care and social services.The center operates as a boarding school where sixty children of single mothers, orphans and children from very poor families can reside year-round. The center tries to facilitate the adoption of the orphaned children by local families.This is the first center of its kind in northern Greece and serves three counties including Alexandroupolis. The Metropolitan Church of Alexandroupolis is responsible for the center’s operating costs.
