For the educational program for hospitalized children, titled: "museum on wheels" project to transport basic exhibits and educational materials - displayed at the museum - to hospitalized children at the Children´s Hospital "Agia Sophia" who cannot physically visit the museum and for a program for children in Lavrio, a low income area 70 kms southeast of Athens.The Hellenic Children’s Museum was founded in 1987 in Athens by a group of young scientists. It is designed to help children develop their potential to become socially aware citizens. The museum organizes a variety of educational, interdisciplinary programs for both children and adults.  The programs’ main goals are to familiarize children with art, the museum, and the cultural and technological heritage of Greece.
