“Mother I’m going… to Vamvakou” is the title of the episode of the Greek public television show +people. The show, presented by journalist Yiannis Darras, visits Mount Parnon and the people who decided to upend their lives to move to a nearly deserted village and try to revive it.
The show highlights the Vamvakou Revival project, which is implemented by the Vamvakou Revival team at the initiative of and with the support of the Stavros Niarchos Foundation (SNF).
Anargyros, Eleni, Haris, Tasos and the other members of the team talk about life in the village, its connection with nature, the challenges they face, and their plans for the future.
SNF Chief Programs & Strategic Initiatives Officer Stelios Vassilakis also describes the vision behind this major venture, part of SNF’s broader Laconia Initiative.
The episode premiered on Tuesday, November 16, on ERT3.
