HSS Continues Transatlantic Knowledge Exchange for Orthopedic Surgeons through the Pandemic
12 October 2020

In past years, the HSS-Stavros Niarchos Foundation (SNF) Orthopedic Seminar Program has offered a cohort of surgeons from Greece hands-on professional development.

This year, because of the pandemic, surgeons were not able to travel from Greece to New York, but the Hospital for Special Surgery (HSS) continued the tradition of transatlantic knowledge exchange by offering a virtual seminar for orthopedic surgeons practicing in Greece.

The half-day event on Saturday, October 10 was attended by dozens of surgeons.

HSS is recognized as a world leader in orthopedics and rheumatology, performing more than 30,000 surgical procedures each year. The Hospital has also made education a core component of its mission, reaching tens of thousands of medical professionals in scores of countries. In addition to support for the HSS-Stavros Niarchos Foundation Orthopedic Seminar Program, the Stavros Niarchos Foundation (SNF) also made a landmark grant to support HSS’s SNF Complex Joint Reconstruction Center.
