Street Vendors Get Back to Work Making Meals for New Yorkers in Need

Street vendors in New York have been hit hard by the pandemic, but they are shut out of aid extended to other small businesses. Meanwhile, food insecurity in the city has sharply increased.

With support from the Stavros Niarchos Foundation (SNF), the Street Vendor Project from the Urban Justice Center has employed local street vendors to distribute more than a thousand meals a week in their communities in Brooklyn and the Bronx.
