Young people meet Trophy Challenge of agri-food innovation
10 July 2020

In Greece, fewer than 10% of people running farms are under 40 years old. But the young participants of the “Trophy Challenge” have interesting, innovative ideas for evolving and developing the country’s agri-food sector.

Three winning teams pitched their business ideas in the Agri-Tech Startups, Food-Tech Startups, and Agri-Tech & Food-Tech Ideas categories at the country’s largest agri-food innovation competition, held online on Thursday, July 9, 2020. In addition to monetary prizes totaling €22,000, the winning teams will also have the opportunity to enter the finals of the global Future Agro Challenge competition and visit Rutgers University in New Jersey.

The “Trophy Challenge” is held by New Agriculture for a New Generation, a program led by Rutgers University in collaboration with the Agricultural University of Athens and the American Farm School and implemented through an exclusive grant from the Stavros Niarchos Foundation (SNF). Support for the competition also comes from Industry Disruptors-Game Changers.
