Exploring Injustice through the Book of Job
01 July 2020

Theater of War Productions, known for bringing together provocative texts, talented actors, and participants with “skin in the game” to delve into urgent and difficult issues, is presenting The Job Project on Wednesday, July 1 through an online performance open to the public.

The event, free with required preregistration, begins at 4 p.m. EDT.

With dramatic readings of the ancient Hebrew text as the jumping-off point for guided discussion, the performance, held in collaboration with Exodus Transitional Community, will explore the impacts of the pandemic on individuals and communities, with a particular focus on people affected by the justice system. If you missed last week’s powerful performance of The Oedipus Project as part of the Summer Nostos Festival, you can catch many of the same esteemed actors in The Job Project: Jeffrey Wright, Frankie Faison, David Strathairn, and New York City Public Advocate Jumaane Williams.

SNF has supported Theater of War since its establishment in 2009, including for a free ten-week run of Antigone in Ferguson in Brooklyn last summer.
