February may be cold, but at least spring is around the corner!
In this spirit of optimism, the village of Vamvakou in the Greek region of Laconia is offering an even richer monthly program of events than usual in February.
New treats await visitors, in addition to the regular activities offered in Vamvakou on an ongoing basis. For young scientists, V.Lab (the Vamvakou Technology Lab, fully powered by SNF) continues to offer a number of free science, technology, engineering, and math programs for kids at the village school.
Nature lovers will have the opportunity to explore the mountain Vamvakou calls home, join in sports activities for the whole family, and enjoy guided tours of the village’s roads and trails. They’ve also got you covered in terms of entertainment, with experiential seminars, theater and puppet shows, and educational activities for both children and adults.
Vamvakou is shooting for the stars though a new partnership with astrophysicist Fiori-Anastasia Metallinou, who will guide visitors to the village through the starry night sky.
