23 JANUARY 2020 / French Institute to Hold Night of Ideas in Greece

On January 30, 2020, the French Institute of Greece will hold a Night of Ideas, an annual event organized simultaneously in 89 countries that celebrates the flow of ideas between countries, cultures, disciplines, and generations.

For the 2020 edition, the Night of Ideas will unfold in four cities in Greece—Athens, Heraklion, Mytilene, Thessaloniki—with support from the Stavros Niarchos Foundation (SNF). This year’s theme, from Brazzaville to Tokyo, is “Being alive”.

Since 2016, the Night of Ideas has offered inquiring minds around the world an opportunity to uncover the latest thinking in science and the arts, to listen to idea-makers in a diversity of fields, and to participate in discussions about exigent issues of our time.

This year’s Night of Ideas will take place on January 30, starting at 7 p.m. with a live broadcast of architect and scenographer Patrick Bouchain’s Grand Prix for urbanism 2019 remarks from Mytilene.
