The Great Flight: A Story about the SNFCC
11 December 2019

Our pilot is the strangest butterfly in Athens, and our destination is the Stavros Niarchos Foundation Cultural Center (SNFCC).

The children’s book “The Great Flight” is an introduction to this modern Athens landmark, making links to the ancient city, its history, architecture, and Greek culture.
On Saturday, December 14 at noon, “The Great Flight”, written by Vagelis Iliopoulos and illustrated by Stephen Livanos, will be presented by the writer at the Greek National Library Book Castle at the SNFCC.

Admission is free.

Visit the SNFCC website for details.

The design, construction, and outfitting of the SNFCC were made possible by the largest single grant from the Stavros Niarchos Foundation (SNF) to date. In February 2017, SNF gave the SNFCC to the people of Greece, announcing its commitment to continue supporting the SNFCC for the next five years, with donations of up to € 50 million, in organizing events.
