08 NOVEMBER 2019 / Young Citizens and the Constitution travels to Thessaloniki

The civics program Young Citizens and the Constitution will travel to Thessaloniki on November 21 and 22, 2019 for the program’s second Thematic Debate and the third Seminar.

Young Citizens and the Constitution is supported by the Stavros Niarchos Foundation (SNF) and the Center for European Constitutional Law – Themistocles and Dimitris Tsatsos Foundation, which runs the program.

The Thematic Debate will focus on the concept of civic rights, particularly on issues like the right to participate in the democratic process, personal privacy in new media, and the rights of asylum seekers. The debate will be held on November 21, 2019 from 18.00 to 20.30 at the Central Municipal Library of Thessaloniki.

The Seminar will be held on November 22, 2019 from 10.00 to 16.00 at the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki School of Journalism and Mass Communications. It aims to enhance institutional thinking and reasoning skills.

SNF’s grant for Young Citizens and the Constitution also supported the creation of an interactive online platform to help the public understand the Constitution of Greece, Syntagmawatch.gr.
