Town Hall Discussions on New SNF-Supported Hospitals in Sparta, Thessaloniki, and Komotini
25 November 2019

The Stavros Niarchos Foundation (SNF), in collaboration with the Municipalities of Sparta, Pylaia-Chortiatis, and Komotini, invites the public to three open discussions on the creation of three new hospitals. The new SNF General Hospital of Sparta, the SNF University Pediatric Hospital of Thessaloniki, and the new SNF General Hospital of Komotini respectively, will be designed, constructed, and fully outfitted through grants by the SNF.

The new SNF General Hospital of Sparta, the SNF University Pediatric Hospital of Thessaloniki, and the new SNF General Hospital of Komotini respectively, will be designed, constructed, and fully outfitted through grants by the SNF.

These three major grants are part of SNF’s broader Health Initiative, whose total budget of more than $450 million is exclusively and fully funded by SNF. The Health Initiative comprises construction of new healthcare infrastructure, procurement of specialized medical equipment, and implementation of educational programs, with the goal of strengthening medical and nursing care throughout Greece and, by extension, the health of Greek residents.

On Monday, December 2, 2019, at 17:00, we will discuss the new General Hospital of Sparta at the amphitheater of the University of the Peloponnese. The next day, we will be in Thessaloniki for a presentation of progress on the city’s new pediatric hospital, which will be the first such hospital in Greece outside the Prefecture of Attica, which includes Athens. The presentation is scheduled for Tuesday, December 3, 2019, at 18:30 at the theater of Filyro High School, Thessaloniki. The last stop will be Komotini, for a presentation on the city’s new general hospital, scheduled for Wednesday, December 4, 2019 at 17:00 at the amphitheater of the city’s Multifunctional Center.

The presentations will take place with the participation of members of the Project Planning and Management Team, SNF representatives, and representatives of the Greek state, who will answer any questions that may arise.

We’ll see you there!
