08 OCTOBER 2019 / Young Heroes in Training

The Youth Hero Training program designed by Close Quarters Defense (CQD) aims to help young people grow in confidence in their own self-worth and their ability to make positive interventions in the world around them.

It also gives the young participants practice responding under pressure to difficult and potentially dangerous situations they may encounter in life.

The Youth Hero Training Program, which takes place on the Eastern Shore of Maryland at CQD’s headquarters, is supported by an exclusive grant from the Stavros Niarchos Foundation
(SNF).

CQD implements the Youth Hero Training program with the help of an extensive network of professionals representing a broad range of experiences—veterans, law enforcement personnel, paramedics, pilots, and more. The young people who participate have a chance to get to know these adults and gain familiarity with their professional paths.
