25 Artists with Disabilities, 25 Writers, 1 Exhibition, 5 Cities

Oct 21, 2019
What would our world be like if art traveled beyond convention and prejudice? “Traveling Art,” hosted by the organization ARTOGETHER, features works by 25 artists with disabilities paired with manuscripts by 25 writers. Each writer was inspired by one particular work of art, expressing their thoughts and feelings in handwritten text.

This exhibition is the fruit of a two-year program implemented through an exclusive grant by the Stavros Niarchos Foundation (SNF), aiming to promote artistic creation by people with and without disabilities and to empower collaboration.

The exhibition will be opening on Wednesday, October 23, at the Historical Archives of the Piraeus Bank Group Cultural Foundation and will then travel to Volos, Ioannina, Sparta, and Tinos. At each of its stops, artistic activities and experiential workshops for people with and without disabilities will complement the exhibition. As part of the program and the exhibition, a collaborative publication containing the artworks and the manuscripts of the writers was created through an SNF grant.
