When the European Research Council (ERC) evaluates a research proposal as excellent, it’s an indication that the project is of the highest scientific quality.
In spite of their potential, however, not all of the Greek research projects determined to be excellent by the ERC have access to funding.
A new collaboration between the Stavros Niarchos Foundation (SNF) and the Hellenic Foundation for Research and Innovation (H.F.R.I.) aims to change this.
Through a joint effort, with a grant totaling €10 million, Greek researchers whose proposals have been evaluated as excellent by the ERC are invited to resubmit those same proposals and apply for up to €250,000 in funding.
The partnership between SNF and the H.F.R.I. highlights the importance of cooperation and coordination with the common aim of enhancing the country’s research and excellent scientific human resources, and creating the appropriate conditions for the reversal of the phenomenon of the outflow of important Greek scientists abroad.
The grant follows the SNF’s Recharging the Youth initiative and is part of a broader effort by SNF to foster opportunity for young Greeks.
The proposal resubmission process takes place from September 23rd until October 14th. For detailed information you may visit the website of the H.F.R.I here.
