A New Round of iMEdD Programs and New Programmatic Additions
18 September 2019

In just seven months, iMEdD has developed a strong presence in the field of journalism, hosting more than 40 participants, 25 lecturers, 30 mentors, 5 special events, and 60 hours of workshops and discussions.

Its programmatic schedule continues at the same dynamic pace for the months to come. Specifically, the next thematic cycle of the Ideas Zone knowledge exchange program, entitled “Newsroom Essentials” and curated by the Columbia School of Journalism, is scheduled to start on October 3. The application process for the next round of the iMEdD incubator is currently underway.

At the same time, a series of initiatives under the iMEdD Bridge, the third pillar of the organization, will soon be announced, aiming to make journalism a vehicle of democracy for groups of people with limited access to sources of reliable information. Finally, a new program called iMEdD Lab is taking shape, focusing on the production and presentation of interactive journalistic research and data analysis.

iMEdD is a nonprofit organization founded in 2018 through the exclusive support of the Stavros Niarchos Foundation (SNF). Its mission is to promote and reinforce transparency and credibility in the field of journalism, and to build a strong community of independent media professionals in a welcoming space that fosters collaboration and the development of new ideas and new ventures, with the help of cutting-edge technology.
