12 AUGUST 2019 / Summer Camp Fun for Kids, with a Serious Mission

All children have a right to play—to express themselves, explore the world, and, most importantly to just have fun.

But unfortunately, having the right does not always mean having the opportunity. Associazione Dynamo’s Camp Onlus works to give this opportunity to some of those children most in need of it.

With support from the Stavros Niarchos Foundation (SNF), 20 kids from Greece and Cyprus will be participating in Camp Onlus’s summer 2019 international session starting in mid-August. SNF representatives will also have a chance to visit the camp to see it in action.

The camp, which has operated in Tuscany since 2007, serves young people ages 6 to 17 and is part of the global “SeriousFun Children’s Network” founded by late actor Paul Newman. The camp has since given kids who are impacted by serious and chronic illnesses a chance to enjoy therapeutic recreational activities following hospitalization or when their illness is in remission.
