07 AUGUST 2019 / Increasing Educational Opportunity in Nice

“Give to each the opportunity they deserve” is the motto of Institut Louis Germain, a mission they work to fulfill by offering intensive educational programs to students from underserved backgrounds. Following its success in other French cities, the program is expanding into Nice.

The Stavros Niarchos Foundation (SNF) previously supported the implementation of the program in Avignon, where it worked with five dozen students on academic enrichment in the humanities and sciences. In late August, 45 students in Nice will have a chance to take part, along with students in Marseilles, Toulon, and Avignon.

Institut Louis Germain, named for a teacher influential in the life of Albert Camus, caps Individual classes at 15 students to ensure a successful learning environment. Participants, exposed to many dozens more hours of rigorous teaching than they would otherwise have been, leave better prepared to access prestigious and selective universities.
