The Greek island of Chios is known for its traditional villages, the historical estate of Kampos, its distinctively flavored mastic resin and its citrus.
However, over the past two years it has also become renowned for the Chios Music Festival. This year, the Festival returns with more than 50 artists invited from Greece and abroad, musicians, actors, filmmakers, professionals, and amateurs who will express their love for the arts and music.
The Chios Music Festival will last for nine days, from August 2 to 10 and will host a varied program. Performances will include contemporary musical theater, classical, rock, jazz, and traditional music concerts, which will bring life to important historical and cultural points of the island, such as the Riziko, Karaviko, and the Spyros Stephanou Estates in Kampos, as well as the Courtyard of the Archaeological Museum of Chios, involving the locals, students and visitors of the island.
The Festival is made possible by a grant from the Stavros Niarchos Foundation (SNF), which ensures free admission to all events.
