28 June 2019

On Monday, July 1st, 15 years after the semifinal with the Czech Republic, the Euro 2004 trophy will be at the Legends 2004 Walk of Fame at the Stavros Niarchos Foundation Cultural Center.

From 6 to 9 p.m., visitors will have the opportunity to see the trophy up close and get photographed with their favorite Legend 2004 who will be there to speak with the crowd at the end of the night. Soon after, the big game against the Portugal Legends will take place on July 4th, in a revival of the final in Lisbon 15 years ago.

The day before the big game, two European champions who have played a significant role in Greek football will honor us with their presence at a unique event. Otto Rehhagel, former coach of the Greek National Team that won the Euro 2004, and Fernando Santos, former coach of the Greek National Team and current coach of the Portuguese National Team, will visit the Stavros Niarchos Foundation Cultural Center for a discussion with sports journalists Christos Sotirakopoulos and Vasilis Sambrakos.

The event will be held on July 3rd at the Alternative Stage of the Greek National Opera building at 12 pm. The event is free and open to the public. Pre-registration is required.

The Stavros Niarchos Foundation and Legends 2004 are collaborating for the events taking place for the celebration of the 15th anniversary of the Euro 2004 Championship. In addition, the SNF supports the nonprofit Champions for Life, set up by Legends 2004, with an aim of supporting vulnerable social groups and promoting the values of sports, cooperation, fair play, and the joy of participation.
