18 June 2019

Since 1943, Entraide de l’Eglise Réformée de Nice has worked to provide vital services to the residents of Nice who are most in need. Now, with support from the Stavros Niarchos Foundation (SNF), Entraide will be able to provide these services a newly accessible and upgraded social center.

As of June 15, the Centre Protestant de Rencontre now includes entrances accessible to people who use wheelchairs, a wheelchair-accessible restroom, and renovations that will improve the flow of people in the building at the busiest times. Bernard Guilbaud, Chief Operating Officer of SNF’s Monte Carlo office, spoke at the inauguration event.

Entreaide de l’Eglise Réformée de Nice is an organization making real and substantial impact positive impact by fitting a local need,” she said. “With Entreaide’s push to make its facilities more accessible, open and welcoming to all, it is primed to become more interwoven with its community than ever. The barriers this important project seeks to overcome are not just physical, and it has taken a firm and tangible stance against exclusion.”

SNF previously supported works on the kitchen at the center used to prepare the regular meals provided by Entraide.
