09 May 2019

On Wednesday, May 8, New York Stem Cell Foundation held a panel discussion on the incredible possibilities—and profound ethical questions—opened up by DNA-editing technology.

Gene Editing and the Future of Human Health” brought together perspectives from researchers and bioethicists to discuss what it will mean as CRISPR gene editing comes into play in clinical settings. Panelists included Jeffrey Kahn, the Andreas C. Dracopoulos Director of the Berman Institute of Bioethics at Johns Hopkins University, which collaborated with NYSCF in producing the event.

Support for the event is provided by the Stavros Niarchos Foundation (SNF), which has also supported NYSCF educational programming, construction of new research facilities, and operations. SNF has also provided support to the Johns Hopkins Berman Institute of Bioethics.
