Emergency Financial Support for First-Year Undergraduate Students in Central Greece

Apr 08, 2019
A new program from the Region of Central Greece aims to provide financial support for first-year undergraduate students whose families live below the poverty line in the area. The program is part of the Region’s social intervention program, Gefyra.

The Gefyra program, which is supported by the Stavros Niarchos Foundation (SNF), supports vulnerable social groups in Central Greece. It also includes additional programs, such as the Warm Home, which covers annual heating costs for families, and emergency financial aid to students at local schools for school supplies, English language courses, participation in extracurricular activities, as well as the provision of electric wheelchairs for people with disabilities experiencing severe financial difficulties.
