Since the signing of the memorandum of understanding, there have been developments in the initiative as a whole and the individual grants it comprises. Specifically, in the months following the signing of the MoU, a team of partner-consultants was appointed by the SNF to contribute to optimal design of the projects. Furthermore, the Grant Contract between the SNF and the Greek state was ratified under law by the Greek Parliament. Upon the ratification of the Grant Contract, the nonprofit Special Purpose Vehicle (SPV) “Health Initiative SA” (Greek: Πρωτοβουλία για την Υγεία Α.Ε.) was established, undertaking the coordination, management, and implementation of the projects until their completion and delivery to the Greek state, upon which it will cease to exist.
The Special Advisory Committee for the SNF Health Initiative was also established. The committee convenes regularly in order to ensure effective partnership between all parties involved. At the same time, during the period since the signing of the MoU, there has been progress in the individual grants, analyzed extensively in the quarterly updates published by the SNF to share timely and comprehensive information. (1st, 2nd and 3rd Regular Quarterly Progress Update).
The Assembly consists of representatives from the Prime Minister’s Office; the Ministry of Health; the Ministry of Education, Research, and Religious Affairs; the Ministry of Finance; the Ministry of Environment and Energy; the Ministry of Infrastructure, Transport, and Networks; the National Center for Emergency Care (EKAV); the University of Athens Faculty of Nursing; Hill International, which has undertaken the management of the infrastructure projects; and the SNF.
A Special Advisory Committee of representatives of the Greek state and the SNF was also established during the development of the Stavros Niarchos Foundation Cultural Center (SNFCC). The Committee convened regularly to ensure the effective collaboration of all parties involved until the SNFCC was delivered to the people of Greece.
