On Thursday, January 31st, the New-York Historical Society hosted a ribbon-cutting ceremony for the Tech Commons @ New-York Historical, a new educational resource for young people.
The Stavros Niarchos Foundation provides support to another facet of the New-York Historical Society’s educational mission, professional development programs for teachers.
The new multi-use space incorporates a media lab with a 3D printer, an audio-recording room for video projects, a screen-equipped media wall, and ample space for group or individual work. New-York Historical envisions young people using the space to create multimedia and research projects, or just to hang out.
Established in 1804, New-York Historical is the city’s oldest museum.
