06 DECEMBER 2018 / Athens Digital Lab Presents the First Digital Ideas that Aim to Improve Life in Athens

On Wednesday, December 5th, a few days after the launch of the second edition of its competition calling for smart city digital ideas, Athens Digital Lab (ADL) presented the innovative digital solutions, developed and implemented by the teams from the first cycle of the program, which are already underway in Athens.

ADL, which was created in October 2017, with an exclusive grant by the Stavros Niarchos Foundation (SNF), by Athens Partnership with the cooperation of COSMOTE and Nokia, is a model research and development laboratory supporting innovative smart city solutions, aiming at upgrading the quality of life of Athens residents and visitors.

During the event, the teams from the first cycle—Inagros, Recytrust, Smart City Spaces and Thing of Me— presented the results of their pilot applications in areas such as cleanliness, recycling, green and public space management, as well as data management. The teams  also talked about the challenges they have encountered in developing their solutions, as well as the importance of being an integral part of Athens’ digital transformation.

Proposal submissions for ADL’s second cycle will end on December 17th, 2018. For more information on the proposal submission process see here.
