From the outset, our vision for the Stavros Niarchos Foundation Cultural Center was for it to become a destination, an open and accessible public space where visitors can actively participate every day in shaping its identity and role in the city. In a short span of time, ever since it was delivered to the Greek society, the SNFCC has proven its worth as a space which can bring together people of different ages, experiences and ideas, which, like the pieces of a puzzle, compose its true identity.
It gives us great joy and it inspires us when we “see” the SNFCC through the eyes of its visitors, the relationship they have created with it, and the feelings that it evokes to each and every one of them. Giorgos Kazazis, professor at the Athens School of Fine Arts, shared with us a video he created, drawing inspiration and material from the SNFCC, capturing in his unique artistic view, moments from the SNFCC's life, using images that balance between reality and imagination.
The SNFCC is the SNF’s largest single grant, which it continues to actively support for the implementation of free, public programming and for parts of its operational costs.
