13 NOVEMBER 2018 / An Ethical Framework for Robots? Exploring Practical Ethics at JHU

On Wednesday, November 14th, representatives of the Stavros Niarchos Foundation will join faculty of Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore for a symposium presenting the work of practical ethicists at the University.

JHU Exploration of Practical Ethics, a program of the Berman Institute for Bioethics seeks to encourage Hopkins faculty to develop innovative ideas for addressing real-world ethical issues. The 2017-2018 awardee projects tackle ethical questions in areas ranging from preparedness for humanitarian disasters to autonomous vehicle testing to refugee resettlement.
 
SNF’s long partnership with Hopkins has included support for a range of projects through and involving the Berman Institute for Bioethics, including the Stavros Niarchos Foundation Fellowship in Palliative Pediatric Care, the Global Food Policy and Ethics Program, and Visions of Hope II.
