On Monday, October 1st, 2018, Benaki Museum’s Board of Trustees presented the Stavros Niarchos Foundation (SNF) with the “Antonis Benakis” award, as part of a special event that was held annually in honor of the Museum’s long-time supporters.
The SNF has supported the Benaki Museum through a series of grants. Indicatively, the SNF has provided support for the implementation of a program, which offers free admission to all Museum’s visitors, as well as for the repair and restoration works and the procurement of equipment for the Patrick and Joan Leigh Fermor House in the area of Kardamyli. The latter is set to become a center for intellectuals and scholars and an educational center of international scope.
