04 SEPTEMBER 2018 / The SNF Supports Greek Teams Participating in the 2018 World Finals of the International Student Competition F1 in Schools

Three student teams will represent Greece at the 2018 World Finals of the international STEM student competition F1 in Schools that will take place from September 9th to September 12th, 2018, in Singapore. The teams come from six schools, both public and private.

The Stavros Niarchos Foundation (SNF) supports the participation of the Greek teams that are travelling to Singapore to take part in the contest along with 51 teams from 23 countries, by covering part of their participation fees.

F1 in Schools is a leading global educational initiative aiming to generate greater interest in STEM disciplines (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics), among high school and university students, up to 19 years old, through hands on activities, as well as to provide knowledge in Innovation and Entrepreneurship.

The SNF supported the participation of 25 public schools in the 7th Panhellenic F1 in Schools competition for the school year 2017-2018. The SNF grant has encouraged the participation of more students from public schools in the competition and their involvement in innovative STEM projects.
